MOUNTAIN VALLEY SKATE PARK - PRESCOTT VALLEY, ARIZONA

"From a rider's perspective, In the last four to five years Brad Siedlecki has completely revolutionized and remapped Skate Parks as we know them across the United States and the world.  Every park that he subsequently designs pushes the limits further, in integration of environment, quality, flow, and overall sickness. I can't wait to see what he will do next."

MARSH CREEK SKATE PARK - RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA

On behalf of Stewart Engineering, Inc., I wanted to write a thank you for all of the hard work you put into making our project a huge success. The park has only been open for a couple of months and yet it continues to get rave reviews from the local, regional, and national skate community. The quality of the material choices and the quality of the skate experience are second-to-none in the region.

As you know early on, we had to make a choice on whether we should work with you or your previous employer, due to that firm disbanding and then reforming. I had been working with you during the proposal process, but the firm turmoil left us in a quandary.

You and I discussed the fact that you were about to start Pillar. Therefore, I called several references that you gave me and I called several more that I found on my own from your past portfolio. What I heard from everyone was that you approached each project as if you owned it and as if their park was going to be the best. Everyone said that you would be fully committed to the project and that we wouldn’t be let down with the amount of energy and expertise that you’d bring to the project from beginning to end. And now that we have completed our first project (of many?) with you, we were truly pleased to see all of those qualities shining through in your work with us here in Raleigh. You knew your audience, your materials, your construction techniques, and you worked very well with us as a team member.

And in closing, I would also like to commend you on your understanding of context sensitive site design and your ability to tie the skatepark into the chosen site. By being able to work with the site parameters and our park design team, the project truly is a unique space for this entire region and has been successful beyond our imagination. Once again, we are very pleased that we could work together and we hope to do more of the same in the near future.

Thanks again for everything,

I wanted to thank you for doing such a great job on the Bay Creek Skate Park.  It looks amazing and the kids really love it.  I appreciate you meeting our aggressive design schedule and being so proactive on the couple of issues that arose during construction.  JJG and the County representatives were particularly impressed with the way you handled the public involvement meetings.  The stakeholders looked up to you and you were very respectful of their opinions.  Thank you again for helping develop a successful project and hopefully we can work together in the future.

PIONEER SKATE PARK - COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO

On behalf of Mr. Siedlecki, we would like to extend a letter of reference to Brad's credit, toward his qualifications as a skate park consultant. DHM Design has had the opportunity to work with Brad on a personal basis, from the design phase of the Pioneer Park Skate Park through the100% Construction Document Submittal.  We feel Brad has provided us excellent service throughout every phase of the skate park's design and development. He retains a professional understanding of skate parks from a design and user perspective.

Furthermore, Brad's years of experience designing skate parks has been a much desired asset to our design team. Brad was able to easily communicate design alternatives to the design team, the client and the public (a youth task force) in a quick and methodical way.  Brad's extensive portfolio enabled him to quickly present ideas and steer the design process to achieve consensus.

If you have any further questions or concerns about our experience with Mr. Siedlecki, please feel free to contact Bill Neumann or Ryan Holdorf at the information provided below.

Sincerely,

DHM Design Corporation
Bill Neumann, Principal

CHEYENNE SKATE PARK - CHEYENNE, WYOMING

I am writing in support of Brad Siedlecki and Pillar Design Studios.

As a Landscape Architect, I occasionally have clients (often municipal) who want to add a skatepark as part of an overall park design.  While my background is extensive, I don't have the expertise for skatepark design that is required on these jobs.  As a result, I have sub-contracted with Brad to create the action sports portion of a park, and I have been impressed by his work.

Based on this experience, I can tell you that Brad is a solid, innovative skate park designer, who can easily bridge the gap between the skaters' desire for cutting-edge designs with constructability.  He has the knowledge on how to design and deliver a skatepark that can challenge all levels of expertise.

In the early process of creating a new park, we make it a habit to meet with the users, and get their input.  Brad's second language - "skater-ese" - speeds and enhances this creative process.  The users, usually kids and teens, feel confident and comfortable with Brad, and are always co-creators in the final design.  It wouldn't be their park without their input, and it wouldn't end up such a successful park without Brad's extensive knowledge.

Brad's work is through, timely, objective, and ambitious.  In addition he is technically accomplished in the field of landscape architecture, and his designs are always appropriate to their regional locales.  I plan to continue to use Brad as a consultant for future skatepark projects and also as the consultant to help in assessing the viability of locations.  Conversely, I rely on Brad's expertise in actually assessing and then reducing the skateablity of urban plazas, streetscapes, and public spaces.

I highly recommend Brad Siedlecki and Pillar Design Studios for any of your action sports needs.

Sincerely,
CTA ARCHITECTS ENGINEERS

GOODYEAR SKATE PARK - GOODYEAR, ARIZONA

Brad Siedlecki asked if I would write this Letter of Recommendation for him, and I do so without hesitation.

I've known Brad for about five years.  We had the chance to work together on two projects while he was serving as the Project Manager for his previous employer; Goodyear Community Park in Goodyear, Arizona and Tuba City County Park in Tuba City, Arizona.

While involved with these projects, I got to know Brad as being very knowledgeable in the area of Skate Park design, and construction.  He was instrumental in meeting with us and our clients to explain the various options available to them, helping them develop their program for the facility, and discussing possible construction techniques and their associated costs.

Since meeting and working with Brad, I've made a point to visit and take a closer look at some of the Skate Park facilities that he's been involved with throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, and have been surprised to see how successful they are - both in the way they've been designed and built, but more so in the shear enjoyment and fun that the skaters seem to be having while skating them.

I would highly recommend Brad and his company for the design of any Skate Park facility that you might be considering.

Sincerely;

Kevin B. Moore
